Today marketers use Twitter to generate tons of leads for free. The question is…how can you utilise Twitter so it can be be one of your Main Lead Generation Systems? Today there is a deep divide on the best way to use it as one of your lead generation systems.
In the early days Twitter was a very different animal. Twitter was a space where people simply shared what they were doing with their ‘friends’. The aim was simple, tweet and tell people, “What are you doing?”

Thus, tweeting “I’m eating toast” or “It’s sunny in Glasgow” was the norm. In those early days you would have been ridiculed for repeating those same messages over and over again. Twitter etiquette, dictated by the ‘social media gurus’ / ‘Twitter police’ condemned repeat tweets.

But compare this to what we have now. While there are still a lot of ‘gurus’ preaching the right and wrong ways to behave Twitter is now a very different animal. Hordes of marketers and entrepreneurs use Twitter as their main lead generation systems. And if you are not maximising this tool it is high time you were!! They are not so concerned with forging relationships or tweeting about what they had for breakfast. They’re goal is to broadcast their marketing message to as large a number of followers as possible.
